The St. Catharines Flying Club is located at Niagara District Airport in the heart of Niagara. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the best possible flight training at the lowest possible cost for over 80 years.We are registered as a Private Career College under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005, and approved as a vocational program under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 to provide Instructor Rating and Commercial Pilot training.

The Club is a Certified Flight Training Unit, registered with Transport Canada with two class 1 instructors, one class 2 instructor and two class 3 instructors. We also have 2 Transport Canada Certified Pilot Examiners. We provide training for Recreational Pilot Permit, Private Pilot license,and Commercial Pilot license as well as Instrument, Night, Instructor, and OTT.Announcements:
July 18, 5pm. Pig Roast. $10.00 per person. This is always a major event for the Club. Bring your friends and family for a great time and wonderful, plentiful, food.

Gliders are once again using the airport on Saturdays and Sundays starting mid June, so please use caution.
Club T-Shirts and fleece shirts are now available. T-shirts are $15.00 and fleece shirts are $50.00. Various colors are available. See Mike Neave to place your order. He has samples and a cataloge that you can browse through.

Next PPL Ground School is going to start running on June 7th. at 1900 hrs. in the Evans Room and will continue on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for 15 weeks. Here's how it works:
1. The course is broken into sections or "blocks" according to the subjects being taught. A block will normally be offered in a condensed period of time. (example: an entire weekend or several evenings in a row)
2. You may choose to take all of the blocks (Mandatory for Commercial candidates) or just the ones you need, depending on what you are interested in.
3. If you choose to purchase all of the blocks, you will receive 90 hours of training at a discounted price of $800.00, a savings of $100.00.
4. If you choose to purchase individual blocks, which vary in length depending on which subject you choose, the cost is $10.00 for every hour included in that block.

Advanced Pilot Ground School First Session
Block 1 - Aviation Meteorology
Meets the requirements for:
- Recreational Pilot Permit.
- Private Pilot Licence/Night Rating/VFR OTT Rating.
- Commercial Pilot Licence.
- Instrument Rating.
- Great refresher for any pilot.

- Cost for this block of 20 hours is $200.00
- New Rec/Private Pilot students will receive a $100.00 discount on enrollment for the regular PPL ground school with the purchase of this block.
You will need the following books for this course:
1. Air Command Weather Manual.
2. Air Command Weather Manual Workbook.
3. From the Ground Up.
4. The Ultimate Weather Services Guide.
5. Aero Course Canadian Instrument Rating Workbook.
All are available from the Flying Club. Please allow 5 days for anything that must be ordered.
