St.Catharines Flying Club Wings Banquet 2010
A record crowd turned out to enjoy the 2010 Wings Banquet at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel.
Patti Gamble welcomed the members, guests and speaker Ted Barris. Our "Flying Pastor" Tom Korchok said grace and the crowd headed off to the buffet table. We were treated to a sumptuous feast presented buffet style by Sheraton staff along with a wonderful seletion of great deserts.
The guest speaker of the evening Ted Barris, accomplished author and writer, presented several riveting stories and pictures of war heroes taken from some of the books that he painstaking researched and wrote after gaining their trust. He talked in great depth to those that served in the World Wars, Korean war, and Afghanistan. A very interesting, moving and enjoyable presentation.
Mike Neave introduced the instructors Scott Montean, Jim Cairns, Kevin McMahon, and Ray Sherk who gave out wings pins, and certificates to the pilots as follows:

Many thanks to Patti Gamble for organizing the Banquet. Much appreciation also to Patti, Board Members and Manager Mike Neave for their dedication to the Club and for their tireless efforts in keeping the club viable despite the many financial and regulatory challenges they face on a daily basis. Thanks also to Conrad Hatcher, our examiner and instructor, who's ground school lessons constantly produce excellence in our graduate pilots. We are also fortunate to have great flight instructors in Scott Montean, Jim Cairns, and when called upon, Mike Neave, Dave George, Conrad Hatcher, Kevin McMahon and Ray Sherk.
