Pilot Medicals ....

Student pilots and Recreational pilots require a category 4 medical. After age 40 an ECG is required initially then after age 50 every 4 years after.

Private pilots require a category 3 medical. After age 40 an ECG is required initially and then every 4 years afterward.

Both RPL and PPL require medical every 60 months for under age 40 and every 24 months for age 40 and over.
